How Backlinking Helps Increase Ranking on SERPs  Gabrielle Sellitti | June 26, 2022          Before there was marketing, the traditional "word-of-mouth" method was the way of the land. If a new family or business had arrived in town it wasn't long before the whole town knew. Why is that? Because people talk! Discussion about the up-and-coming new things is nothing new to society. Sharing names of people and businesses in the word-of-mouth traditional manner has slowly become put on the back burner as the world has grown ultra digitally connected over the years. As the marketing world grew so did their methods of increasing brand awareness. Today, the digital world has adapted to this recommendation tradition by developing a strategy called backlinking.  According to MOZ , a backlink is a link that is created when a company's website includes an external link that takes users to another website that is outside of their company. This could be done ...

This type of scenario reminds me of what I'd imagine starting up a new small business would be like. You just started an online shop and what is the first thing you do? Spread the word!  Networking, telling friends to tell their friends, making business cards to pass out, attending local fairs as a vendor- anything to build awareness around your new brand name, but what happens when traditional methods aren't helping you reach your goals?   What if I told you there's another new kid in town that could show you the ropes, a software full of resources and tools to help you maximize...

Why Monitoring Returning Visitors on Your Site Benefits Your Company  May 28, 2022, | Gabrielle Sellitti  We've all had moments where we've been online shopping, maybe browsing for a new pair of sneakers only to leave a site before purchasing them. Then, somehow, an ad for those shoes seems to follow us around the internet begging for us to return them and add them to our cart. While some may think it is fate, this marketing trick is no coincidence. This tactic is called retargeting. Retargeting is extremely successful in the marketing industry and not only from my own online shopping experience. Statistics have shown that returning visitors are more likely to make a conversion. According to an article from Monster Insights, returning visitors have a 75% higher chance of purchasing and adding 65% more items to their shopping cart compared to first-time visitors.  Not only are returning visitors an opportunity to get users to convert but returning visitors themselve...
How To Decrease Your Company's Bounce Rates   May 27th, 2022 | Gabrielle Sellitti If you've ever overseen a company's web analytics and ran into an increase in bounce rates, it may have stirred some internal panic. You may ask- why aren't visitors staying on our company's website? What is causing visitors to leave? And what can we do to decrease the bounce rate and increase engagement?  The bounce rate, as defined in Week 1 Lesson: Introduction to Web Analytics, Basics of Web Analytics and Tool Introduction and Selection are the single page visits divided by the entry pages. A single-page visit is when a user visits a website but doesn't go any further than viewing one page. This ultimately leads to the visitor viewing a website, deciding to "bounce," and not engaging or interacting with any of the site's content.  This rise in users bouncing off the site can be frustrating as it is not leaving enough time for the user to reach a conversion. A h...
